Originally published in 1984 in partnership by Maclean Hunter and Key Publishers, ownership of Canadian Art was transferred in 1991 to the newly formed Canadian Art Foundation which received charitable status in 1992. Now in its 21st year, Canadian Art is Canada's most widely circulated art magazine. It is published quarterly in March, June, September, and December.
