Art and Ideas
	FRONT Magazine exists to provide emerging and established artists from diverse communities with a forum that supports experimental literary work, visual poetry, drawing and photography, with particular emphasis on forms that integrate these practices in a contemporary interdisciplinary context. FRONT is a visual magazine that encourages artists and writers to explore the boundaries between literary, pictorial, and performance-based approaches to contemporary artistic work. Based on the Western FRONT's long established mandate to foster experimental practice and artistic exchange, FRONT solicits local and national Canadian artists to create original work and to participate in an ongoing exchange of ideas. Our goal is to increase awareness among a community of local, national and international readership of the contribution made by artists working in Vancouver and across British Columbia, in a forum that is dedicated to a discourse of experimentation and collaboration, and to the development of interdisciplinary practices presented in the printed medium.
