About Book Division

Who is Disticor Direct Book Division (DDBD)?

First established in 1985 under the company name Marginal Distribution and located in Peterborough, ON we specialized in the Canadian Distribution of books from small, alternative and independent publishers. In that time gained a reputation as an energetic and reliable advocate of small presses and alternative books. The number of clients DDBD represents increases as our reputation continues to grow.

In August of 2003 we were pleased to announce the acquisition of Marginal Distribution by our mother company Disticor Magazine Distribution Services, the largest Canadian national distributor of periodicals in North America. Over the period of a year we moved operations over to our Ajax, ON facility. In August 2004 the move became complete and the Peterborough, ON location was officially closed with all operations being done out of the Ajax, ON facility giving us a constant overview of operations.

In January 2005 the company name for the book division was changed to Disticor Direct Book Division. More main-line categories are being added to further enhance our ever increasing title and category selections. Thereby providing our existing clients with more distribution opportunities and further expanding growth.
